Description
The black and white original was meant for a fanzine cover, but was never used as intended. I later coloured it in order to sell prints.
The art shows three "doorways" into different parts of the universe. One leds to open space in the vicinity of Saturn. Another leds to the Rocky Mountains. And the third doorway, just behind the kneeling "Uluriamimsi," gives a view of the basement apartment I lived in at the time. The Polk-Audio speakers were a good marque in their day. And back then one only had a vynal record collection -- no CDs or mpgs. A couple of my models are visible above the records -- The T72 is busted now, and in a box waiting for me to repair it. The B-25 Mitchell bomber is still in perfect condition, even after nearly 25 years.
The work was done with colour pencils.

In response to the pic of the fantastic alien and the portals, I was reminded of a scene in my 1000 pg fanfic "The Shining Pyramid" where Wendy (of Harvey fame) has discovered that her mentor, the Matriarch had been murdered -and then impersonated -by her chamberlain Glumullion. In a magician duel, Wendy invokes "Dimension Door" to drop the Chamberlain through a portal into some unknown space. This is an extremely powerful magic and foresees her use of portals when she becomes Sephira,the most powerful entity ever to exist !
One form of portal is the "Joirean Junction" where two distant regions of space are connected -permanently ! A person can thus in one step exit Scotland near the Firth of Forth and arrive in wilderness Canada ! She uses portals to try and extend a terrible empire across as many parallel realities as she can !!
