Burden of Gilt

I used to have quite a knack for finding lost money on the sidewalk, under bushes, and even on gawdforsaken beaches scores of miles from the nearest habitation. There were several amusing anecdotes to choose from in writing a fanzine article, and I called it "A Burden of Gilt."

To illustrate the piece I made two separate drawings. The one in upper right was mimeographed with plain black ink, and the sheet fed through the mimeo a second time, using gold coloured ink to print the second part of the illo.

Of course, all I usually found was nickels and quarters. No gold plated girls. When asked about this I say it was a "metaphor." But it was really wishful thinking...
