Peter Pan in Toronto

Description

Photo of a statue of Peter Pan, cast from the original in Kensington Gardens, London England. This copy is found in a tiny urban parkette named after the Canadian pianist, Glenn Gould. (This must be a recent change, since the park and statue were there long before the pianist died.) It can be found at the NW corner of St. Claire and Avenue Road. The photo was taken by a friend of mine when I first showed him the site. The statue itself was commissioned by author of Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie, and was created by Sir George Frampton in 1912. Frampton worked from photos of one of the boys Barrie modeled Pan on, who posed in a special custome provided by Barrie.
