Bump in the Night

Description

A DeviantArt member named Rabbette posted this old drawing of mine that had been published in Bunny Pages (#13).  I have never gotten around to digitizing most of my art from the 1990s, so it was a welcome post.  I've taken the .jpg and used Photoshop to improve slightly ... and now I'm posting it myself.

I'm not sure if I remember who Rabbette is, since I don't remember who the editor of The Bunny Pages was off hand.  That was 20 or so years ago, and my relationship with most fanzine publishers was strictly by slow-mail.  I would recognize the name if reminded, however.  I think I may have approved whoever it was posting these without prior permission (the fanzine rights would not automatically cover on-line rights) since it's a handy way for me to add the work to my digital archive.

This was back in the days when I took "funny animals" more seriously, and tried to broaden the number of animals I drew.  I also paid more attention to little details like the spilled trash.  I'm more selective about going to that much effort these days, since it's grown clear to me that this isn't "real" art, just pin-ups.  I also stick pretty much to cats, bunnies and skunks now.  I've never had much interest in these cartoon creations as "real" animals.

I suspect something like this happened to me a few times. Raccoons, possums, mice, squirrels, chipmunks, dogs, cats,... all seen or reported. Maybe just the wind (a can full of bottles for recycling went over and 90% got scattered. A few were retrieved, but as they were blown all over the streets and as I was in a hurry to get ready for work...I just left them !)
